Just when you thought shabby chic was starting to look, well, shabby, along comes the charming new gift shop Burlap & Brass, just east of 50th & France. Founded by former Anthropologie associate Rena Lindberg, the rustic store has a similar eclectic feel, filled with vintage-infused goods and globally inspired jewelry. But Burlap & Brass favors artisinal, one-of-a-kind products—such as Jameson bottles upcycled into glassware, candles in reusable cut-glass jars, recycled eyewear, and vintage-inspired home furnishings—over mass-produced items. Lindberg has also stocked the store with goods from Minnesota makers, including irreverent greeting cards by Muddy Mouth, locally themed t-shirts by Minnesota Awesome, and scarves and totes by Faribault Woolen Mill. Best of all, the store is helpfully arranged in sections—men’s, women’s, kids, and babies—for easy gifting. • facebook.com/burlap.brass
