Dive bars are hot these days. Who doesn’t love some greasy food, cheap drinks, and pulltabs? And you can add another one to the list. Centro Restaurant Group announced this morning that it will be opening Bina’s adjacent to Centro’s Northeast Minneapolis restaurant. According to a press release, Bina’s will “reimagine the classic dive bar with fresh and refined touches.” Its name is a tribute to owner Jami Olson’s grandparents.
Bina’s is expected to open in early 2024 and will include approximately 2,800 square feet. “We absolutely love this community and our surroundings in this location,” Olson says in the press release. “When the space became available, we jumped on it. Our team has always wanted to bring this concept to life and Bina’s will let us continue to reinvest in Northeast Minneapolis with a playful nod to the neighborhood.”
Bina’s will be dive bar-ish and offer Hamm’s, PBR, a brief selection of local beers and straightforward cocktails on tap. There will also be a dedicated bar shelf showcasing an assortment of eclectic agave spirits, as a nod to Centro.
Bina’s will also offer an abbreviated menu from EveryWhen Burger Bar along witha few new bar snacks such as mozzarella sticks, fried pickles, and Dixie cup snacks. Formerly an office space and barber shop, Bina’s will blend together a mix of restored and found antiques with refined finishes. There will be Christmas-themed restrooms and artwork by local Northeast artists along with pull tabs and darts. Seating options for up to 108 guests will include 22 bar seats along a central bar, a mix of banquettes and smaller tables. A small patio along Quincy Street is expected to open in the spring. Bina’s will open in early 2024 at 1404 Quincy St. NE in Minneapolis.
