Skincare and coffee may seem like unlikely bedfellows, but research has found that putting coffee grounds on the skin can have the same revitalizing effect as the beverage does on the mind. New Minnesota startup Honour Essentials, founded by brothers Jerad and Matt Poling, combines the two with a line of caffeine-infused men’s skincare, shave products, and single-origin Costa Rican coffee beans.
Honour’s moisturizer and shave cream incorporate a blend of green coffee bean oil, which provides one of the most potent forms of natural antioxidants. Its high levels of polyphenols, chlorogenic acid, and ferulic acid fight free radical damage, are said to heal scar tissue, and promote rapid cell regeneration. Made from the small and broken beans, the exfoliating rinse naturally sloughs off dead skin, while caffeine works to helps tighten skin and minimize the appearance of puffy eyes.
And the products are sustainably packaged—the skincare products come in pods made from pressed sugar cane pulp, and fit into a reusable aluminum canister. • honoursessentials.com
