Laugh Yoga

Get your laugh on tonight at the Linden Hills Laughter Club

We’ve all heard the claims: “Laughter is the best medicine,” the more you laugh the longer you’ll live, laugh hard enough and you’ll fly (okay, maybe that’s just in Mary Poppins). And now there’s laugh yoga, the increasingly popular exercise routine that pairs unconditional laughing with yogic breathing. We know what you’re thinking: “Laughing as exercise? Yeah, right.” But it’s true—there’s even scientific evidence that shows 15-20 minutes of continuous laughter lowers the level of stress hormones, reducing the frequency of respiratory infections, providing relief from chronic medical problems, and helping people overcome depression.

If it still seems like a long shot, why not check it out for yourself: Tonight, join Jody Ross, certified Laughter Yoga Leader, and dozens of other laugh-yoga devotees at the Linden Hills Free Laughter Club, the largest weekly laughter club in state (possibly the nation). Not only will you see what all the hype is about, but you’ll get a good laugh—and workout—out of it, too.
