The Perfect Parks of Chaska

There is no shortage of green space in Chaska; parks encompass its borders to the north and south in the scenic Minnesota River Valley. In this neighborhood southwest of the Twin Cities, explore the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum, a 1,200-acre, beautiful horticulture garden that is the perfect backyard playground year round. Another highlight is Paisley Park, Prince’s Minneapolis residence and recording studio now a museum devoted to his legacy. After the Saturday tours, visitors are able to stay and dance the night away.

Moving south on North Chestnut Street leads you to the Minnesota River and Chaska Lake. The Hazeltine National Golf Club is a picturesque, premier gold club, and was the host of the 2016 Ryder Cup (and will be host to the 2028 Ryder Cup). There’s also the community center, which offers aquatics, fitness, skating, batting cages, classes and more, as well as Oak Ridge Hotel and Conference Center, a popular new spot for weddings and other events.

Tree-lined streets in Chaska like North Pine Street and West Fourth Street offer beautiful single-family homes. The distinctive yellow “Chaska brick” can be found in historical buildings like the Guardian Angels Catholic Church.

Chaska truly combines the feeling of a friendly small town with the modern offerings of larger cities. The area is rapidly expanding, having seen a population growth of 33 percent since 2000, and developments have kept up with the demand. There is a slew of new shops and restaurants, significant additions to Ridgeview Medical Center, and each year, there are between 100 and 300 new residential homes added.
