Diverse Daisies

Diverse Daisies is designed to enrich the lives of young women between the ages of 11 and 15. We hold monthly events throughout the Twin Cities, which are cost free. The young women involved experience a variety of activities and new adventures, exploring life topics at an impressionable age. We create a welcoming environment to learn and build confidence and self-esteem. The goal is to bring young women from all cultures, economic statuses, and demographics together, to form friendships and personal connections in a supportive, safe space where they can express themselves freely, without judgement or discrimination.

Events focus on positive self-image; health and nutrition; inner and outer beauty; the arts; community activism; and more. Past events have included a Diverse Daisies trip to Camp Tanadoona for outdoor team- and leadership-building activities; a visit to the headquarters of Da Bomb Bath Fizzers to hear a presentation from teenage entrepreneurs; and more.

“It’s become a really big part of my life and influenced me to be who I am today as a young woman,” says Emerson M., a Diverse Daisies participant. “My favorite event was visiting the Humane Society or horseback riding because I love animals and I can see myself being a mentor and helping other girls as it has helped me,” adds Jaden P.
