Wooly Wonders: From Fiber to Yarn
Celebrate the steps of turning wool into fabric by visiting Historic Forestville on Saturdays throughout June to learn the different steps. Each Saturday will have a demonstration of one of the steps in the wool to fiber process. Join us in an artful demonstration of fiber spinning. Watch fiber artist Karen Schmidt, from Schmidt Farm in Preston, Minnesota, add wool while continuously spinning the fiber together.

These items can all be used to create dye. Join us as we experiment with common items in homes and nature to create dye for our wool.

Rings of Heartwood Author Talk with Molly Beth Griffin
Molly Beth Griffin will be visiting Historic Forestville to read from her MNHS Press published book of poetry, "Rings of Heartwood: Poems on Growing". The event is free to the public and will take place outside at the site on a nice day, or the large barn at Historic Forestville in the rain.

This Labor Day weekend, join Double Tree Carriage Company for a scenic tour through the restored native prairie around Historic Forestville to learn about the importance of prairie ecosystems and identify in-season plant species. Rides leave from Historic Forestville and are approximately 30 minutes long. There is a max of 15 people on each ride so it is strongly recommended that you reserve your preferred time in advance.
