Is there a recipe for the perfect pizza? Minnesotans have told us there is and are eager to support their favorite pizzerias! Minnesota Monthly’s Pizza Bracket Challenge is an online competition to honor the most popular pizza in Minnesota. We compiled a list of local restaurants—some new to the dining scene, some old favorites—and put them against one another in an online bracket-style contest where you voted for your favorite pizzeria and selected this year’s champion! The votes have been cast, and a new champion has been selected!

What originally started as a small café in a rural town on Minnesota’s Iron Range in the 1950’s, Sammy’s Pizza has grown to 14 locations across Minnesota, Wisconsin and North Dakota. Today, Sammy’s Pizza is proud to be in the fourth generation of pizza artisans. Each location is locally owned and operated by a family member or close family friend — who all still use the original recipes.
