Bearskin Lodge, an iconic destination on Minnesota’s historic Gunflint Trail since 1925, offers high quality cabin lodging on the edge of the Boundary Waters Canoe Area. Spend your days exploring the BWCA and your nights in a cozy, comfortable cabin. Hike, fish, canoe, kayak, or swim. Soak in the hot tub or refresh yourself in the sauna. Head out on a pontoon trip or head into Grand Marais to shop. Have an uninterrupted conversation with your spouse while the kids are occupied with the Bearskin summer naturalist program. Drink a glass of wine on the dock while you listen to loon songs. Finally, find a moose!
Bearskin is truly a classic Minnesota resort experience–clean, well-furnished, woodsy cabins with all the amenities, nestled in a pristine forest along a sparkling BWCA lake, far from the city and highway. Abundant wildlife, excellent fishing, great canoeing, boating, and hiking make this experience a true nature-lover’s getaway.
Summer tends to be family time, often with multi-generational family groups. Fall is for couples and friends, who drive up to experience our brilliant North Shore color season. In winter, Bearskin is renowned for 70+ K of groomed cross-country ski trails through the Superior National Forest.
