Winter sports have arrived at Winter SKOLstice Powered by Xfinity! The Mauer GMC Ice Rinks featuring over 45,000 square feet of ice for hockey, curling, and skating are now open and ready to give all Minnesotans the opportunity to enjoy winter activities.
“We are excited to welcome the community to the Mauer GMC Ice Rinks inside TCO Stadium to reclaim winter in a unique and exciting way”, said Viking Lakes General Manager, Kyle Chank. “Viking Lakes is a campus built to experience life in fresh air from signature events like Winter SKOLstice to unmatched amenities at Viking Lakes Residences.’
The four Mauer GMC Ice Rinks will be available daily for uses such as hockey practice, pick-up games, or team rentals. “We understand that Minnesotans are looking for dynamic winter activities, especially this year”, said Kristy Gustafson, general manager of Mauer GMC. “We are delighted to support Winter SKOLstice and honored to have our name on a place where the community can engage in beloved winter sports in such a spectacular setting.”
Back by popular demand, two sheets of ice will be available exclusively for curling. On weekends, the USA Curling Experience will offer equipment and tips from expert curlers.
In addition, two refrigerated ice rinks will be available for skating – one inside TCO Stadium and one on the plaza. These rinks will always be available for open skating at no cost, while skate rentals are available for $5 per pair inside the Paul Sutton Bourbon Warming Haus.
Open daily during Winter SKOLstice Powered by Xfinity, the Paul Sutton Bourbon Warming Haus is an enclosed heated space to purchase food and beverages, including a full-service bar. The Nordic-inspired Warming Haus is equipped with comfortable seating, fireplaces, TVs, music, and free WiFi, in partnership with Xfinity. Daily programming includes trivia on Thursdays and live music on weekends.
