That’s why we formed Doctors for the Practice of Safe & Ethical Aesthetic Medicine.” DPSEAM physicians adhere to the highest standards, he says. “If a doctor isn’t a member of DPSEAM, avoid them for cosmetic treatments,” he comments. Consulting Radiologists

CRL Women’s Imaging by Consulting Radiologists, Ltd.
    Southdale Medical Center
6525 France Ave. South, Suite 110, Edina  952-915-4320

Screening mammography is one of the best steps women can take to help ensure good health—yet some women still choose to postpone it. Guideline confusion can be one reason why. Earlier this year, the American Cancer Society (ACS) changed its screening mammography guidelines, making screenings optional from ages 40-45.

Consulting Radiologists, Ltd. (CRL), the American College of Radiology (ACR), Society of Breast Imaging (SBI), and the American Congress of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ACOG) still recommend
annual screening mammography beginning at age 40. These findings are evidence-based, which is why CRL Women’s Imaging by Consulting Radiologists, Ltd. sends annual reminders to women over 40 despite the change in the ACS guidelines.

The death rate from breast cancer has declined 30-35 percent since mammography was originally introduced into the U.S. population. With the introduction of 3D Mammography™ by Hologic, CRL Women’s Imaging has found an impressive increase in cancer detection, and a significant decrease in callbacks for women.

According to Dr. Lisa Schneider, MD, CRL breast imaging section lead, “When breast cancer is detected before a woman is able to feel it, she has a greater chance of cure. High quality mammography is essential to the early detection of breast cancer.”

Dr. Trudi Parker, MD, CRL Women’s Imaging Medical Director, states that the new 3D™ technology allows the breast to be seen in greater detail. 3D Mammography™, also known as Digital Breast Tomosynthesis, offers exceptional clarity and detail by imaging the breast in several layers. By looking at each layer individually, a potential cancer is less likely to be obstructed from view by overlapping breast tissue. No noticeable difference in the experience or time is required to do the exam for a patient when compared to a traditional 2D mammogram.

At CRL Women’s Imaging, patients can count on an efficient, compassionate, and comprehensive breast imaging experience that encompasses every aspect of care.  They believe in catching breast cancer early, so you can go on living a long and healthy life. A Center of Excellence Named as a National Center of Excellence in Women’s Health, University of Minnesota Health’s gynecologic cancer care program is at the  forefront of gynecologic cancer treatments and therapies. As one of the largest gynecologic cancer programs in the Midwest, their team of nationally-recognized gynecologic oncologists write, design, and lead many clinical research trials both locally and nationally. Partnering with research colleagues at University of Minnesota Masonic Cancer Center translates into patients having access to new treatments first.

What is a gynecologic oncologist? Gynecologic oncologists are physicians who specialize in diagnosing and treating cancers that affect female reproductive organs such as the vulva, cervix, ovaries, and uterus. After completing medical school and residency, they receive three or more years of additional training in advanced surgical techniques, chemotherapy, and radiation that are important to providing the best care for gynecologic cancers.

Who should see a gyn-onc? Any woman who is told she has a suspected or diagnosed gynecologi cancer should consult with a gynecologic oncologist. Additionally, women with complex medical or surgical histories, or who may require significant  surgery for benign conditions, should  consider seeing a gyn-onc.

M Health – Your partner in cancer care A diagnosis of gynecologic cancer can impact many areas of a woman’s life, affecting each woman and her family differently. M Health’s team of physicians and support staff works diligently to meet the individual needs of patients by providing clear information, emotional support, and expert medical advice. They understand patients face challenging decisions during their cancer journey, and are by their side every step of the way.

The new 342,000-square-foot M Health Clinics and Surgery Center opened in February 2016. “When you visit our clinic, you might notice we work a little differently,” explains Heather Manship, office manager. “Success here is not measured by the number of women we treat, rather by the positive feedback we hear from our patients. Our providers are encouraged to take the extra time needed to ensure all questions are answered and the patient is satisfied.”

New patients might initially seek out Comprehensive Healthcare for Women for the doctors’ expertise, but they stay for the welcoming atmosphere and excellent continuity of care.

As a full-service ob/gyn practice, providers work with patients for a lifetime, not only in pregnancy and childbirth care (their doctors deliver at Woodwinds Hospital), but they also provide noninvasive sterilization, infertility treatment, menopause care, treatment for heavy bleeding, hospital-based surgery, and incontinence evaluation and treatment. A nutritionist and massage therapist offer counseling and massage services, with a focus on total mind and body wellness.

One unique approach at Comprehensive Healthcare for Women is their renuWell program, designed to encourage women to schedule their annual exams. The incentive? A 30-minute massage in exchange for “renu”-ing their  commitment to their well being each year. Another way Comprehensive Healthcare for Women stands apart is their Pampered Pregnancy program. Pregnant patients receive special gifts at each visit, from the first  appointment through the six-week postpartum check-up. It’s these extra touches that add up to a truly meaningful experience.

Our job? Act as healthcare guides and advisors. We empower you with knowledge and build your confidence so you can make good healthcare decisions throughout your life. At our clinic, the focus is on you. Our hope is that as we work together to improve your wellbeing, and create a life-long bond.
