Charles E. Crutchfield III, M.D., (pictured at age 3 with his parents on their graduation from the University of Minnesota Medical School in 1963) has been a regular recipient of multiple “Top Doctor” awards for the past 14 years. Additionally, he is the only dermatologist to be selected every year as a “Top Doctor for Women” by Minnesota Monthly magazine. He was recently recognized by Minnesota Physician as one of “100 Influential Healthcare Leaders” in Minnesota. Dr. Crutchfield has also been distinguished as one of the leading physicians in the United States and is among the 4 percent of physicians selected as one of the “Best Doctors in America.” Crutchfield Dermatology offers over 10 years of experience treating medical and aesthetic skin issues. There are many options for skin care, “but nothing can compare to the quality, care, and expertise of an experienced, board-certified dermatologist,” explains Dr. Crutchfield.
A graduate of the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine, Dr. Crutchfield is a Clinical Professor at the University of Minnesota Medical School and Carleton College. He teaches medical students, residents and other physicians, and is a recent recipient of the Minnesota Medical Association Foundation’s “Minority Affairs Meritorious Service” award. He has co-authored dermatology textbook as well as a children’s book on skin care, Little Charles Hits A Home Run! He has published more than 100 skin care articles and has an award-winning website, CrutchfieldDermatology.com. A regular expert contributor to many Twin Cities’ newscasts, radio programs, newspapers and magazines, Dr. Crutchfield was recently recognized by The Grio.com, a division of NBC news, as one of the “Top 100 Newsmakers Making History in the United States.” Dr. Crutchfield was also selected as the first recipient of the Medica-KARE 11 Physician Health Care Heroes Award. He is a member of the University of Minnesota’s President Club for establishing an annual dermatology lectureship honoring his parents, both graduates of the University of Minnesota Medical School. His latest endeavor is to implement a new initiative to require automobile, cell phone, and insurance companies to equip cars with mandatory technology that disables texting while driving.
Awarded Mayo Clinic’s “Karis Humanitarian Award,” Crutchfield embraces the Mayo brothers’ philosophy: “First and foremost, do what is best for the patient.” Dr. Crutchfield designs a custom skin care program that incorporates treatments at the forefront of medical care. His clinic is an Acne, Psoriasis, and Aesthetic Care Center of Excellence that includes a newly expanded Skin and MediSpa. The first “Expert Injector” in Minnesota, Dr. Crutchfield is the founding member of “Doctors For The Practice Of Safe & Ethical Aesthetic Medicine” (safeandethicaldoctors.org). Seeing a dermatologist can have an immense effect on your personal and professional life, whether you’re hoping to treat a serious dermatological condition or you’re interested in improving your appearance with an anti-aging procedure.
Founded in 1949, Dermatology Consultants, P.A.—one of the largest dermatology clinics in Minnesota—was one of the first practices in the Twin Cities devoted solely to dermatologic medicine.

Today, the 16 skilled board-certified physicians provide a full spectrum of services for adults and children including general, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology. They believe that just as no two people have the exact same skin, there is no one treatment that’s right for everyone. Because of this philosophy, patients are assessed by experienced doctors who will only recommend and prescribe products and treatments appropriate for their patients’ unique skin, whether that treatment plan includes clearing up acne, treating a common condition like eczema and psoriasis, minimizing age spots and wrinkles, removing unwanted hair, or restoring sun-damaged skin to a healthy glow.
For sun-damaged skin, they often recommend prescription creams and the Fraxel DUAL laser treatment, utilizing patented fractional technology to penetrate deep into damaged skin and replace old skin cells with healthy cells. While there is no “fountain of youth,” good advice—at any age—is using sunscreen and a topical Vitamin A-based cream.
The doctors share a passion for fighting skin cancer at every stage, whether it involves screening, teaching preventive measures, or treating skin cancer, including melanoma. Overall, the doctors perform more than 8,000 skin cancer treatments every year, including Mohs Micrographic Surgery. A dedicated pathology department gives the physicians an edge in diagnosing and treating problems effectively and efficiently.

Szachowicz MD—Facial Plastic Surgery

Edward Szachowicz, MD, PhD
Every year, thousands of people seek treatment for the improvement of facial wrinkles and sagging skin through surgical and non-surgical options, resulting in firm, smoother skin—a younger version of themselves.
Finding a surgeon you trust is critical. For over 25 years, patients have trusted Dr. Edward Szachowicz (pronounced Sak-o-which) with their most visible physical attribute: their faces. He understands that the way you feel about your appearance has a lot to do with how you feel about life, and realizes that even small changes on the outside can allow for so much healing and acceptance on the inside.
Patients not only trust his knowledge, experience, compassionate nature, and track record of great results, but also appreciate his use of video imaging to convey an in-depth, realistic view of how they’ll look post-surgery.
As a physician, Dr. Szachowicz has chosen to specialize on rejuvenation of the face; performing face lifts, neck lifts, brow lifts, eyelid surgery, nose surgery, chin, mandible and cheek implant surgery, as well as administering non-surgical cosmetic treatments, such as muscle relaxers (Botox, Dysport) and injectable dermal fillers (Scupltra, Voluma, Juvederm, Restylane, Perlane and Radiesse) and advanced laser skin care (Fraxel).
It is an honor, says Dr. Szachowicz, to be selected as a Minnesota Monthly “Best Doctor” by his peers.
“I believe that beauty is intrinsic in every human and is healing for all,” he comments.

Good sleep is a necessity, not a luxury. Even minimal sleep loss can affect your energy, your mood, your efficiency, and how you handle stress.
Dr. Inell Rosario, a practicing otolaryngologist (ear, nose and throat specialist) with 16 years of experience, became board-certified in sleep medicine to provide comprehensive management to patients with sleep apnea and other sleep disorders.
In 2013 she opened Andros ENT & Sleep Center, named after the island in the Bahamas where she grew up. Dr. Rosario says she is “genuinely honored” every day to have the opportunity to care for her patients, evaluate their ENT and/or sleep disorders, and help them get a good night’s rest.
In addition to evaluating on-site sleep studies, she dispenses CPAP machines and sees pediatric patients for ear infections, sleep apnea, and issues with tonsils and adenoids. A full line of hearing aids is available. As an extension of the facial plastics part of her practice, Dr. Rosario recently opened Andros MedSpa in The Village at Mendota Heights, providing full-service aesthetics with physician-only injections and body contouring.
This dedicated doctor treats patients with the “same attention and respect” that she would give a family member, her concern evident in regular follow up phone calls—just one of the many ways Dr. Rosario delivers superior value and patient care.

Minnesota Disc Institute
Dr. Jamy antoine, DC, non-surgical disc specialist
Photo courtesy of minnesota disc institute
Living with acute or chronic pain from a bulging, herniated, or degenerative disc in the neck or lower back can be a daily battle, making it hard to sit or stand for long periods of time and degrading a person’s ability to concentrate. For many who have tried traditional therapy and treatment: adjustments, epidural injections, steroid shots, acupuncture, muscle relaxers, massage, icing, and special stretches—without long-term relief—the severe pain and numbness simply becomes a way of life.
Dr. Jamy Antoine, DC, non-surgical disc specialist with the Minnesota Disc Institute, offers hope to patients who have tried everything, short of surgery, to alleviate the pain.
“As research shows, the discs in the body can heal, if given the right tools,” Dr. Antoine explains. The Minnesota Disc Institute specializes in the safe, non-surgical, effective, and gentle treatment of damaged discs in the neck or lower back, sciatic pain, and numbness or tingling in the arms, hands, legs, or feet. When the discs are allowed to heal and repair, he says, many patients will gain more long-term pain-free years than they will in the short-term by having surgery. (Although he is quick to point out that there is a time and a place for surgery, too.)
With over 12 years of experience, he has helped patients of all ages find relief, without drugs, without injections, and without surgery, therapies that often just “mask the pain.” The therapy he specializes in worked on his own severe neck pain (he had six bulging/herniated discs in his neck), helping him to avoid spinal surgery. It’s his goal to help his patients avoid spinal or back surgery whenever possible.
“I’m pain-free today,” Dr. Antoine says. “And the chances of me having surgery for my past disc problems are non-existent.”
His patients speak highly of their results.
One woman’s husband heard about the Minnesota Disc Institute just two days before she was scheduled for surgery on a herniated disc. Her surgeon and primary care doctor supported her decision to cancel the surgery and try the program. When she went into Dr. Antoine’s clinic, her pain level was at a 10. “I could only walk about 10 yards,” she says. After treatment at the Minnesota Disc Institute, “I’m 100 percent pain-free and jogging, walking, swimming, and biking. Not only am I pain-free, but I feel more healthy overall. I am thankful to Dr. Antoine and his staff.”
Another patient, only 19 years old, said he had persistent lower back pain—and when months of physical therapy, chiropractic care, traction, and injection therapy didn’t provide long-term relief, he scheduled surgery. That was before he discovered Dr. Antoine. “The Minnesota Disc Institute approaches back injuries from a different angle compared to other clinics and doctors, and this approach saved me from surgery and subsequent procedures stemming from surgery,” he comments.
His back feels so good, he’s returning to collegiate baseball within a few weeks, “which is something I don’t believe I could say without the help of Dr. Antoine and the Minnesota Disc Institute.”

Real Health Chiropractic Clinic

Dr. sharhae matousek, dc

It says a lot about a trained health professional when patients will travel from other states for their services.
Patients come from as far away as Oklahoma to see Dr. ShaRhae Matousek of Real Health Chiropractic Clinic in Eden Prairie. Maybe it’s because she doesn’t believe in a one-size-fits-all approach to chiropractic care. Maybe it’s because she offers the latest diagnostic and therapeutic equipment. Or maybe it’s because she is accessible and truly cares about the expectant mothers, infants, athletes, adults, and aging population who make appointments to see her.
“I have an advanced degree in pediatrics and obstetrics,” she says. “And as a former athlete, I know the ins and outs of athletic excellence and injury.”
No matter the reason, her patients love the fact that she listens, understands expectations, and is passionate about helping them heal.
In addition to being selected as a “Top Chiropractor,” she has a 99.5 percent approval rating from her patients, including a five-star Healthgrades rating and an “A” rating on Angie’s List.
