Nothing compares to seeing Minneapolis from the vantage point of a bicycle in summertime—whether it’s on a tour of lakes and cycling paths, the sights and sounds of the Mississippi riverside, or a jaunt through its distinctive and vibrant neighborhoods. Nice Ride bike rentals fit any summer lifestyle: a little exercise on the way to a lunch date with friends, heading to a summertime music festival, or exploring the destinations lining the Minneapolis Midtown Greenway.
Nice Ride’s fleet of safe and well-maintained bicycles numbers more than 3,000, and rental stations number in the hundreds all across Minneapolis. Ease of use if their highest priority, and today there are two ways to use Nice Ride: the familiar, classic green bikes parked at stations, and new blue dockless bikes that you’ll find parked at virtual hubs throughout the city.
This summer, just in time for the most active season in Minneapolis, Nice Ride is expanding its footprint in the city, installing more than 400 additional dockless bike parking hubs and nearly 50 additional stations—all to promote the healthiest way to get around and make every fun trip into an adventure for riders of any age and skill level.

If you’re like a lot of summertime riders, you can customize a day with multiple destinations: a stop in Uptown for brunch, for instance, then to the riverside for Aquatennial, or to the Walker Art Center for Rock the Garden. Along the way you might want to stop to smell the flowers in Loring Park, or head over to the diverse shops and restaurants of Lake Street. The city unfolds like a wonderland when you’re on a bike, your lungs full of fresh air the sun on your face, and no worries whatsoever about where you’ll park your bike.
Of course, you’ll want to have resources to plan your day, and here Nice Ride also has you covered. You can use the Nice Ride app to locate stations, unlock bikes, and plan out routes. But if you’re the more spontaneous type, you can also walk up and rent to ride at a station kiosk or use the member key option. Nice Ride works to keep rates reasonable, from $2 single 30-minute trips up to $6 full-day passes that include unlimited 30-minute rides in a 24-hour period. Unlimited one-hour rides are available through annual memberships for $75, and monthly pay-as-you go memberships for $30.
