    Music aficionados enjoy a lively scene that includes the Vintage Band Festival, brass music played by regional bands the first Saturday in August.

    Savor the agricultural side of Northfield with the Rice County Steam & Gas Engine shows, Memorial Day and Labor Day weekends, featuring a swap meet, flea market, tractor pull, displays and events.

    Finally, RIDE into town for the Defeat of Jesse James Days celebration, the first weekend after Labor Day.

    The Defeat of Jesse James Days is held each year the first weekend after Labor Day. Along with its famous bank raid reenactments, there is a carnival, rodeo, car show, grand parade, bingo, art and craft shows, music events, bike races and food booths. The Riverfront Fine Arts Festival, produced by the Northfield Arts Guild, brings together more than 65 Minnesota artists who display and sell their work along the beautiful Cannon River the same weekend.
