Can you imagine moving into a new home without a blanket on your bed during a cold Minnesota winter? That was the motivation behind creating the Original Mattress Factory Bring a Blanket for Bridging collection.
For people pursuing housing stability, the simple act of receiving a blanket can help give them hope for the future. Bridging is a Minnesota-based nonprofit 501 (c)(3) organization that helps people thrive in their homes by providing quality furniture and household goods for those pursuing housing stability.
During a shopping trip at one of Bridging’s two warehouses, clients get the opportunity to choose their furnishings—household goods such as lamps, pots, pans, bedding, and utensils, pictures, and more, as well as furniture such as tables, couches, and beds.
Since 1987, Bridging has served more than 330,000 individuals and helped fill their homes with hope, including more than 10,000 blankets annually. Thanks to the generous donations of gently used and new items from thousands of donors, lives change with one visit to Bridging.
Please consider donating a new or gently used blanket at the annual Original Mattress Factory Bring a Blanket for Bridging collection event on Saturday, December 9, 2023 from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. at one of four Original Mattress Factory locations (Eagan, Maplewood, Minnetonka and Shakopee).
