Let nature be your guide at Springbrook Nature Center in Fridley. Enjoy three miles of hiking trails through oak and aspen forests, prairies, and wetlands with floating boardwalks. If you prefer to travel on two wheels, you will love the area’s vast network of paved trails, especially the gorgeous Mississippi River Trail. Other must-rides include the Rum River Trail in Anoka, Coon Creek Regional Trail in Coon Rapids, and Rice Creek Trail, shared by Fridley, New Brighton, Shoreview, Mounds View, and Lino Lakes. Or get out on the water and paddle into the sunset at Wargo Nature Center, where you can rent canoes and kayaks, plus snowshoes and kick sleds in the colder months. Golf is also big in the Twin Cities Gateway area. Tee up at Bunker Hills Golf Club in Coon Rapids or watch the world’s best golfers at the PGA Tour’s 3M Open at TPC Twin Cities in Blaine.

In Twin Cities Gateway, there are endless ways to satisfy your tastebuds. Serum’s Good Time Emporium in Anoka has unbeatable wings and live music. Next, savor wine at Willow Tree Winery in Ham Lake. For something sweet, head to Truffles and Tortes in Anoka for an assortment of dessert goodies. Or bring the whole family to a Twin Cities Gateway’s farmers market. Choose from markets in Anoka, Blaine, Coon Rapids, Ham Lake, New Brighton, and Shoreview. Stay in Coon Rapids and let the kids soar at Urban Air Adventure Park, a trampoline park that also features an indoor zipline, or try out another trampoline park, Zero Gravity Trampoline Center, where trampolines even cover the walls. Perfect for little ones, the Eagle’s Nest Indoor Playground in New Brighton has a ball pit, 8-foot climbing wall, 75 feet of slides, and a foam forest.
