Chanhassen’s 22nd Annual Feb Fest

The City of Chanhassen knows how to have a good time even when it’s cold outside.

Every year on the first Saturday of February the suburb holds its Feb Fest, which boasts fun for the whole family. Held on the ice of Lake Ann, the exciting day’s main event is its ice fishing contest beginning at 1 p.m. on Feb. 7. Tickets are available by mail, phone, or at the event and cost $10, a small price to pay for a contest offering a serious payoff. Up for grabs is 50 prizes valued at $6,000 total if anglers are agile enough to catch one of the 50 largest fish. A $500 travel voucher, gift cards to Byerly’s, fishing accessories, and much more make up this year’s eligible goodies. Live bait is also available for purchase.

Less inclined to fish? There are door prizes valued at $3,000 and all visitors receive one free ticket upon entry for the chance to win. With all of Lake Ann Park at its disposal, Feb Fest offers more than money. Bring your ice skates to enjoy the lake and then warm up by one of the several roaring bonfires with s’mores provided by Chanhassen Boy Scout Troop No. 330. Don’t feel like skating? Race down the sliding hill or enjoy sleigh rides through the winter wonderland. Whether you’re a fishing pro or not, Feb Fest is the place to be for frigid fun.
