We don’t have a dog, but my husband and I plan on getting one in the (hopefully near) future. Our kids ask us on a regular basis for the exact date, brainstorming name ideas (Stitch, Austin, Clover, Gretel) and promising they’ll help clean up the yard (the not-so-fun side of dog ownership). We don’t have a specific date, but we’ve been thinking about it a lot lately, paying special attention to the dogs in our friends’ and family’s lives and trying to picture how a new dog—our dog—would change our lives and fit into the mix. And while dogs all have different personalities, there’s a common thread between them—when they are welcomed at events, these four-legged “kids” and their humans are all happy.
So here’s a round-up of summer events just for them. Sloppy dog kisses almost guaranteed.
