Each spring, I look forward to seeing the Minneapolis Institute of Arts’ (MIA) collection interpreted by floral artists for Art in Bloom. My mom and I have made the trek to the museum for this annual event many times. It’s a great excuse to visit again and gives me new perspective on pieces I have seen before.
This year Art in Bloom celebrates 29 years with the theme “Art in the Garden.” From Thursday through Sunday next week (April 26-29), visitors can wander the galleries of the Minneapolis Institute of Arts and see the talents of more than 150 floral artists alongside classic and modern works of art.
See how a sculpture, portrait, still life or Chinese artifact looks through the eyes of a florist. The floral displays use color, texture, and shape to reflect a specific piece of art. Visitors can view the floral displays and referenced works of art alongside and amaze at the creativity.
Art In Bloom and museum admission are free. If you plan to visit the museum during Art In Bloom, consider catching one of the related events or visiting the store.
