Food & Wine Experience

Love good food and wine? Looking for something to do this weekend? You might want to consider attending the Minnesota Monthly Food & Wine Experience at Target Field. Tickets are sold out for Saturday, but Sunday tickets are still available ($75 in advance, $80 at the door). To me, Sunday is the best time to attend anyway; you can beat the crowds and also receive a complimentary Riedel Degustazione wine glass. Though the event is hosted by Minnesota Monthly magazine, all proceeds benefit Minnesota Public Radio.

This year marks the second year the event will take place at Target Field. If you have never been to Target Field, I’m sure it wouldn’t occur to you that an upscale food-and-wine show could take place at a ball field. But it’s Target Field, one of the best baseball stadiums in the country that was designed specifically with special event space in mind. The venue works wonderfully well; no ball park franks here. Be sure to check out all four event spaces: Metropolitan Club, Legend’s Club Concourse, Puckett Atrium and the Carew Atrium.

If you are a budding foodie or a wine connoisseur, this is your weekend ticket for everything from Asiago to Zinfandel. More than 200 vendors will be on hand to provide a complete selection of gourmet fare, including more than 350 wines and 75 beers on tap. Master chefs, sommeliers, wine makers, and craft brewers will help guide you to new culinary delights. It really is the most delicious weekend of the year. But hurry, tickets are going fast. See you there!
