In the State of Hockey, today is a day for all fans to rally behind the Minnesota Wild as they compete in the NHL Playoffs. In fact, Governor Mark Dayton has even made it official, declaring it “Go Wild! Day” as the team returns to Xcel Energy Center tonight to take on the Colorado Avalanche in a crucial Game 3 in their opening series.
In proclaiming, Monday, April 21, Go Wild! Day, the governor is encouraging everyone to wear team colors throughout the day, and during all upcoming playoff game days. (In case you were wondering, the official team colors are forest green, Iron Range red, harvest gold, and Minnesota wheat.) Governor Dayton, who was an All-State high school Minnesota goalie, will be showing his support by wearing his Minnesota Wild jersey today at the State Capitol. Nevertheless, in encouraging fans to show their team spirit, he also encourages fans to make sure their dress is appropriate for work and school.
