Jump for Joy

It’s hard to find time to workout when you’re on vacation or away from home, especially when you want to use your time for fun activities. Just in the past couple of years, trampoline parks have gained popularity. Whether hot or cold outside, rain or shine, indoor trampoline parks provide exhilarating entertainment, and exercise, across dozens of connected trampolines, some even angled so you can bounce off the walls—literally. In 2010 the original trampoline park franchise, Sky Zone, came to Minneapolis. Since then others have opened, and some are even in tandem with laser tag arenas and arcades.

Sky Zone (Plymouth and Oakdale): Open jump times are available with discounted prices and specials throughout the week, including college student specials, two-for-one prices, toddler time, Jumpapalooza on Friday nights, and Sky Jam on Saturday nights. Other activities include SkyRobics fitness classes and dodgeball.

Zero Gravity Trampoline Park (Mounds View): With 11,000 square feet of trampoline, there is plenty of room for fun. Bounce, play dodgeball, dunk basketballs into a hoop, hop into a foam pit or take a break in the lounging area. There is also an area designated for toddlers to jump (kids under the age of 3 are not permitted to jump).

AirMaxx Trampoline Park and Fun Center (Eden Prairie): Not only can you jump, but you can zap, swing, roll, and win. In addition to the trampoline park, there is a 2,400 square foot laser tag maze, a nine hole cosmic mini golf course, an arcade with games, mini bowling, and a chance to win prizes. Maxxercise fitness classes are available. (There’s also an AirMaxx Trampoline Park, without a fun center, located in St. Cloud.)

Jump and Jam Activity Center (Chanhassen): Jump on more than 10,000 square feet of trampolines that include dodgeball and basketball. Also at this trampoline park is a 3,000 square foot laser tag arena. There are regular jump and fit classes, toddler times, teen nights with included pizza and live DJ, and Sensory Night, which is a session specially for kids with special needs.
