Madden's Resort Ranked Among the Best in the World

We’ve written about Madden’s before, as it’s long been one of Minnesota’s top resorts. This year the rest of the world took notice, as Madden’s was just ranked on Conde Nast Traveler’s list of the Top 100 Hotels and Resorts in the World: Reader’s Choice Awards, nabbing the No. 53 spot—the only property in the state to make the list. And in case you didn’t read that closely enough, that was in the world.

It might seem odd to be writing about the resort now, as we’re bracing ourselves for the first snowfall and Madden’s won’t open again until April, but as you can likely guess, it’s a popular resort. So just as you’re starting to get the itch to retreat from the cold is about the same time you should think about reserving a summer spot, especially if you’re looking to take advantage of Madden’s Memorial Day, Fourth of July, and Labor Day holiday deals.

Need to be sold a bit more? The resort is located on more than 1,000 acres of pines and hardwoods, and is surround by miles of Gull Lake shoreline, meaning guests can partake in just about any on-the-water recreation they desire. Plus, there are other activities like tennis, lawn bowling, croquet, badminton, biking, shuffleboard, horseshoes, volleyball, basketball, and trapshooting, as well as five swimming pools, three beaches, and a lakeside spa. Oh, and the resort also has one of the state’s best golf courses, The Classic, given a five-star rating for best places to play by Golf Digest, plus three other on-site courses.
