Minnesota State Fair Adds New Vendors, Experiences for 2021

A roller coaster, mural park, and even more food options are on the way

The Minnesota State Fair has announced a whole lot of new things to experience at this year’s Great Minnesota Get-Together. Included in the massive update is a thrilling new ride, an art experience, food vendors, skin exams, COVID-19 vaccinations, and lots of new vendors.

Highlights from the Minnesota State Fair’s announcement:

Joyful World Mural Park will feature 10 local artists painting murals throughout the fair’s 12 days. Located west of Chambers Street between West Dan Patch and Carnes avenues.

Riptide roller coaster reaches 55 feet high. Located at Mighty Midway.

American Red Cross Blood Drive Daily, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. (8 p.m. on Labor Day); last appointment is approximately one hour prior to closing. Located in the North End Event Center. 

The Cattle Barn celebrates its 100th anniversary: “view an educational timeline outlining the classic building’s many milestones over the past century, plus a photo opportunity to commemorate 100 years.”

New food includes Baba’s for a variety of hummus bowls, and Solem Concessions Cheese Curds and Mini Donuts: it’s all in the name!

Destination Healthy Skin “The Skin Cancer Foundation’s mobile skin cancer education and screening program offers free full-body skin exams by licensed dermatologists.” Saturday, Aug. 28, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Located on Underwood Street, north of Murphy Avenue east of the Pet Pavilions.

Catch Co.’s Bassmobile is an “outfitted RV features family-friendly games and activities – and giveaways – to share the joy of fishing and inspire beginning anglers.” Sunday, Sept. 5, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.; Monday, Sept. 6, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Located on the south side of Wright Avenue between Underwood and Cooper streets.

Fraser Sensory Building is a “take-a-break oasis is specially created for fair guests of all ages with sensory-processing challenges who may find the sights, sounds, smells and crowds of the fair overwhelming.” Daily, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. (8 p.m. on Labor Day). Located on the west side of Cosgrove Street, south of the Home Improvement Building.

North American Six-Horse Hitch Classic Cart Central Regional Finals held Thursday, Aug. 26, at 3 p.m. in the Lee & Rose Warner Coliseum. Located south of Judson Avenue between Liggett and Clough streets.

COVID-19 Vaccinations Daily, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. (8 p.m. on Labor Day) Located in the North End Event Center, north of Murphy Avenue.

Crop Art To Go Competition Daily, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. (8 p.m. on Labor Day). Located in the Agriculture Horticulture Building, on the west side of Cooper Street north of Judson Avenue.

New Home & Garden Vendors: The Art Cave Company, Bailey Builds, D-Lighted Designs, Paul’s Porch Pots, Perfect Pleasures, Reflections By Megan, Ricki and Sons, and Wettrock Co.

New Hobbies & Food Vendors: Gentleman Forager, Götze, Here’s the Deal Spice Co., Kracken Adventure Bikes, Line Cutterz, Own Your Own Arcade Game, Stunt Puppy, and Traeger Wood-Fired Grills.

New Unique Gift Vendors: Carden Farms, Fantastic World of Art by Russian Souvenirs, Faribault Woolen Mill, Green Bubble Gorgeous, Native Spirit, Pink Zebra, Rock HQ, Steller Handcrafted Goods, StrauBerry Park, Worker B, and Your Ears Rock.

New Threads & Accessories Vendors: Batakali Fashion Design, Crystal Vision, Hippy Feet, Just For Littles, Korie’s Kloset, Midsommar Clothing Company, Minnesota Explorer, Nobler Wild, Southern Glam Boutique, Switch Hoods, and Three Wandering Gypsys.
