Neighborhood Spotlight: Grand Avenue

Bread and Chocolate. Cafe Latte. Salut.

To a visitor that may seem like a grocery list plus salutation, or maybe some favorite things, but no, it’s just a few restaurant stops along St. Paul’s Grand Avenue—and yes, some of my favorite things as well.

Grand is the quintessential place for a carefree stroll on a sunny weekend, coffee in hand, maybe child or girlfriend in tow. Every time I visit there’s more to see and shop.

Gifty finds at The Bibelot and Ten Thousand Villages, home decor at Traditions, quality finds in quaint homes like Irish on Grand or In Grand re-Style… The list can go on and on, and an entire day can easily fade away in a stress-less, wandering way.

But the adventure just got easier.

The Grand Avenue Business Association works to support the life, work, and general well-being of life along Grand, and it’s launched a new website to aid in that endevour.

Welcome grandave.com, a guide to the shopping, dining, and health & beauty services found in the area. With my go-to places already established, it’s good to be reminded that Grand Avenue actually spans 30 full blocks, with the Mississippi on one end and downtown St. Paul on the other.

New to the area? Search for what’s there. Planning an outing? Check for coupons and specials, and send questions via the businesses’ easily accessible social media accounts.

The area is a particular draw during Grand Old Day, Paws on Grand, and Grand Meander, but really, it’s the day-to-day quiet, peaceful feel my girlfriends and I love. Plus the crispy-crust, luscious pizzas at Punch Neapolitan, the Parisian feel and burgers at Salut Bar Americain, the craveable cheesecake at Cafe Latte…

I want to go right now. Girls weekend it is!
