What: Cathedral Festival of Lights
When: Wednesday, Dec. 15 through Sunday, Dec. 19 from 6-9 p.m.
Where: Cathedral of Saint Paul, 239 Selby Ave., St. Paul

The Cathedral Heritage Foundation presents the Festival of Lights at the Cathedral of Saint Paul. This year, there will be two light shows: an indoor presentation titled Starry Night and an outdoor show called The Beginning, which will use the Cathedral’s eastern facade as the backdrop to project the Christmas story.

New Exhibit Opens at MHC

What: Our Home: Native Minnesota Exhibit Opens at the Minnesota History Center
When: Begins Thursday, Dec. 16, 10 a.m.-4 p.m.
Where: Minnesota History Center, 345 Kellogg Blvd. W., St. Paul

The Minnesota History Center’s newest exhibit explores the rich history of Native Minnesotans through the stories, clothing, art, and artifacts of the Dakota and Ojibwe people. The exhibit will continue through the end of January.

A Train Ride with Santa

What: Take a train ride with Santa Claus at the Minnesota Transportation Museum
When: Saturday, Dec. 18, and Sunday, Dec. 19, 10 a.m.-4 p.m.
Where: Minnesota Transportation Museum, 193 Pennsylvania Ave., St. Paul

This is the last weekend for Santa’s Train Shop at the Minnesota Transportation Museum. Learn about railroad history as you enjoy a ride in a festive train car. Snacks and drinks are available.

Miss Richfield 1981 celebrates 40 years of drag excellence and beauty at this traditional holiday show, featuring the story of how she “clawed her way to the middle to become a suburban ambassadress of Richfield, Minnesota.”

Join Circus Juventas as the circus-arts entertainment company springs to life for its second annual holiday show. This tale of three naughty elves, who cause disturbances in the North Pole, includes trapeze artists soaring high into the night sky.

Breaking the Mold at Mia

What: Kamoda Shōji: The Art of Change
When: Through April 22
Where: Minneapolis Institute of Art, 2400 Third Ave. S., Minneapolis

One of Japan’s most famous ceramists will be receiving his first exhibit outside of his native country this holiday season. The late Kamoda Shoji’s exhibit at the Minneapolis Institute of Art will feature 49 works of art in the Cargill Gallery.
