New Music from Nella

What: Nella at the Cedar Cultural Center

Venezuelan singer Nella performs songs from her latest album Doce Margaritas. Nella won a Latin Grammy Award for Best New Artist in 2019 and has since collaborated with Jennifer Lopez, Carlos Vives, Luis Enrique, Susana Baca, and Caramelos de Cianuro.

Oglala Lakota Nation poet Layli Long Soldier is the author of WHEREAS, published by Minnesota’s Graywolf Press in 2017, which went on to win the National Books Critics Circle Award and become a finalist for the National Book Award. Now, Long Soldier comes to Red Wing for a reading, book signing opportunities, and a meet-and-greet.

What: Midtown Global Market Hosts Diwali, the Hindu Festival of Lights

Celebrate a Hindu faith tradition about the triumph of light over darkness and good over evil at Midtown Global Market’s Festival of Lights. The market will provide a family-friendly celebration with food, a craft table, henna artists, sitar music, and a traditional dance performance by the Ragamala Training Center Student Ensemble.
