When: Saturday, October 30, 4-10 p.m.; check-in is 2-4 p.m.
Where: Brother’s Bar & Grill (430 N. First Ave., Minneapolis) or Pourhouse (10 S. Fifth St. #11, Minneapolis)

Gather your group of friends this Saturday for a night of specials at more than 10 bars and venues. There’s a $1,000 costume contest on the line, too.

Van Gogh Takes Flight

What: Vincent Van Gogh Hot Air Balloon

Head to downtown Minneapolis to witness the giant head of Vincent Van Gogh in hot air balloon form. Embrace the artistic spirit of Van Gogh and come dressed in your most inspired costumes. You can jumpstart your morning with baked goods and refreshments, and kids can trick-or-treat on site. (This is connected to the Immersive Van Gogh Exhibit, to celebrate its extension to February 6, according to a press release.)

Halloween Capital Cavalcade

What: Grande Day Parade
When: Oct. 30, 1-3 p.m.
Where: Anoka

Anoka, the “Halloween Capital of the World,” holds its Grande Day Parade the day before Halloween. Catch music and dance performances throughout, plus costumed dogs from a local rescue, according to a press release.

Trick-or-Treat at the Farmers’ Market

What: St. Paul Farmers’ Market Trick-or-Treating
When: Saturday-Sunday, October 30-31, 9 a.m.-1 p.m.
Where: St. Paul Farmers’ Market (all locations)

All of St. Paul Farmers’ Market locations will be putting out for trick-or-treaters this year, while also offering pumpkins, gourds, seasonal produce, autumn flowers, and more.

First Ave’s Scary Again

What: First Avenue’s Halloween events
When: Saturday-Sunday, Oct. 30-31
Where: First Avenue, 701 N. First Ave., Minneapolis

The well-known Halloween costume contest at First Ave is on Sunday, Oct. 31, featuring DJs Sophia Eris, Keezy, Rowsheen, and Izzie P, and hosted by Nur-D. The day before that, check out Flip Phone’s Halloween party at the same venue, featuring Kylie Sonique Love (winner of RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars 6) and hosted by Tygra. (Relatedly, the Turf Club is doing “Skalloween” on Saturday in St. Paul, featuring Space Monkey Mafia, the Von Tramps, the Prizefighters, and Runaway Ricochet.)

Cocktails at Constantine

Let your pets get in on the fun this weekend at Stevens Square Park for Pups & Pumpkins. Munch on your favorite fall treats, like s’mores, caramel apples, and cider, while painting a pumpkin or preparing your pup for the costume contest.

Fire Frighters

Hosted by Woodbury’s fire department, this annual tradition is your chance to sneak in some apple cider and candy, according to Facebook.
