What: Thai Night Market

Where: Wat Promwachirayan, 2544 Highway 100 S., St. Louis Park
Showcasing specialties from the four regions of Thailand, this free festival in St. Louis Park brings in local street-food vendors, plus others selling souvenirs. Socially distanced tables allow for picnicking outside the Wat Promwachirayan Buddhist temple.
An Autumn in Longfellow
What: Longfellow Fall Festival
When: Saturday-Sunday, September 19-20, 10 a.m.-5 p.m.
Where: Soderberg’s Floral & Gift, 3305 E. Lake St., Minneapolis
In the Longfellow neighborhood of Minneapolis, the 97-year-old Soderberg’s Floral & Gift shop hosts an autumn-tinged open house over the course of two days. Take advantage of the open-air fall market—pumpkins, apples, popcorn—and the free haircuts, administered by the SW Metro School of Cosmetology. Also: floral classes, kids’ activities, and sleigh rides. Come with a mask on and remember to social distance.
Just Like Olde Tymes
What: Minnesota Renaissance Festival on Parade
When: September 19 & 20, 26 & 27 and October 2-4.
Where: 12364 Chestnut Blvd., Shakopee
The traditional Minnesota Renaissance Festival we all know and love has been canceled this year. A parade/drive-thru version of the event is hands-down the next best thing. Expect games, food, costumes, and more as you wind through the fairgrounds. Each vehicle is $20 and an arrival time can be selected once you purchase tickets online.
Family Fun and A-maze-ment
What: Fresh Acres Corn Maze and Fall Festival
When: Saturdays and Sundays, September 19-October 31, 10 a.m.-6 p.m. (plus, October 15-16 for MEA break)
Where: 7385 Jason Ave. NE, Monticello
Wander the organically grown corn maze, featuring butterfly and flower shapes and more than 2 miles of paths. It actually consists of two mazes—one for all ages, and a shorter one specifically for kids 8 years old and younger. A petting zoo, corn cannon, inflatables, games, and bale mountain are also part of the experience—and pumpkins are for sale.
Sever’s Big Fall Festivities
What: Sever’s Fall Festival
When: Fridays-Sundays, through November 1 (plus, October 15-16 for MEA break)
Where: 3121 W 150th St., Shakopee
The 24th running of Sever’s fall bash boasts the biggest corn maze in Minnesota, which is jungle-themed. A wealth of additional curiosities include a pick-your-own pumpkin patch, a giant slide, Safari North exotic petting zoo, and lots more for an afternoon of family entertainment.
