It took a drive on unmarked roads and a mile-and-a-half hike to reach this abandoned fire tower north of Grand Portage. After her friends climbed the tower, Minnesota-based photographer and graphic designer Jordan Mileski captured this drone shot just as the clouds parted.
“I didn’t actually think that the drone shot was going to be very good because the preview image that showed on my phone screen wasn’t very impressive,” she says. “When I got home and put it on my computer, of course, I found otherwise.”
