WHEN: December 10, 5:30 p.m. (6 p.m., train arrives; 6:15 p.m., concert)
WHERE: Historic Walker Lake, Library Land & West Lake St., St. Louis Park
WHY: A festive gathering to see a real train decorated in holiday lights and to enjoy musical entertainment by Tim Mahoney. While perusing the food trucks, do something to help those who are hungry in the St. Louis Park community by bringing a perishable food item or cash donation for the St. Louis Park Food Shelf (STEP).

A Pink, Flowery Refuge

Hat and Mittens
WHAT: 22nd Annual Winter Ball
WHEN: December 30, 6 p.m.
WHERE: Interlachen Country Club, Edina
WHY: Help support Hats and Mittens and Express Bikes, a learning lab where young people develop habits and skills for work, business, and entrepreneurship. Bring new hats and mittens to donate for those in need while dancing, enjoying games, and tucking into a marvelous dinner.
INSIDER INFORMATION: Since 1996, Rebecca Jorgenson Sundquist and her friends and committee members have collected and distributed more than 600,000 hats and mittens in the metro area and greater Minnesota, and yearly select one organization serving children in our community to donate funds to. This year, the funds raised will go to Express Bikes, a program of Keystone Community Services. Plus, the goal this year is to give hats to more than 50 organizations in the metro area and in Duluth—ideally 40 million hats.
