WHAT: Perspectives Party for Hope
WHEN: 5:30 to Midnight
WHERE: The View, Minneapolis Event Center, 212 2nd Ave. SE
WHY: To support Perspectives Inc., programs for mothers and children, supportive housing, a kids café, kids connection, mental health services, and other services in St. Louis Park.
With elegant dining, dancing, auctioning, and entertainment by Voice of Hope children’s choir, this annual event provides opportunity to thousands of mothers and children struggling with trauma associated with homelessness, addiction, and mental illness—helping them return to the social and economic mainstream. The mistress of ceremonies is Rena Sarigianopoulos, of KARE 11, and the food comes by way of Minneapolis’ Fabulous Catering Co. and the Minneapolis Event Center. Learn more.

WHAT: American Cancer Society Annual Legacy Ball
WHEN: 6 to 10 p.m.
WHERE: Minneapolis Depot Renaissance Hotel, 225 3rd Ave S.
WHY: Raising awareness and funds for Hope Lodge, where patients and caretakers can stay free while receiving treatments for cancer.
This event highlights and helps fund the many services our American Cancer Society has available for cancer patients and their families. The newly redesigned and updated Minneapolis Depot Hotel is a treat to see, and the entertainment this year includes master of ceremonies Stevie Ray with his improv company. Learn more.

WHAT: Cookie Cart’s Chefs’ Dinner
WHEN: 5 p.m.
WHERE: Town & Country Club, 300 N. Mississippi River Blvd., St. Paul
WHY: Volunteer chefs under the direction of Pat Weber, an award winning chef, culinary educator at the Art Institute. These chefs will prepare dinners for the guests to help raise funds for the Cookie Cart, a nonprofit north Minneapolis bakery that employs and empowers teens.
The Cookie Cart was founded in 1988 by the late Sister Jean Thuerauf, who wanted to provide a safe, secure, and creative space for area teens in her home. It is now a fully fledged bakery program, employing more than 200 teens, and is currently renovating a building in St. Paul for a second location to open on Payne Avenue in the spring of 2018.
