What are you doing this weekend? What’s that? You don’t have plans? We have a six-word suggestion for you: Go to the Midwest Home Show.
(Well, actually 11 words if you add “at the Minneapolis Convention Center.”) We’ve added fun and exciting features to this year’s show, listed below.

For the first time at the Midwest Home Show, you can have an antique or collectable appraised—at no cost—by award-winning Dr. Lori of the Discovery Channel’s Auction Kings! Dr. Lori is a nationally known antiques appraiser whose work has been featured in numerous TV shows and publications. Find out the value of that family heirloom or auction or flea market “find” while meeting the hilarious and knowledgeable Dr. Lori.
2. Bargain Shop for a Great Cause
Pick up all the supplies you need for your home or your home improvement project at the Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity’s ReStore sale. This new event will feature a huge sale of new and gently-used home goods donated by contractors, building supply stores, demolition crews, and individuals—all sold at deeply discounted prices. All proceeds benefit Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity,
3. Free Professional Interior Design Advice
Connect with top local interior designers at the Design Matchmaker event, pairing guests with talented design experts to provide free consultations and professional advice for various interior design projects.
4. Free Ticket Friday
Round up your family and friends and attend the show free of charge on Friday, November 14. (Admission is $4 Saturday and Sunday.) If you already work downtown, stop by on your way home! (Particularly useful if you need anything for your home—see No. 2 above “Bargain Shop for a Great Cause.”)
