Visit St. Paul to Tour Ecuador

Traveling abroad takes a true commitment. Passports, research, day-long flights—it requires time, money, and a real will to explore.

But the historical Landmark Center in St. Paul has made it a ton easier: They’re already on adventure two of their 8th annual Urban Expedition program. For a few Sunday afternoons, they’re introducing a new country and culture to attendees, and this Sunday, March 11, it’s Ecuador.

The event runs from 1 to 3 p.m and features the music of Ecuador Manta, plus the food, landscape, and animals of the region. It’s definitely a family-friendly affair, as kids can make maracas, plus other crafts provided by Mis Amigos Spanish Immersion School.

And guess what? It’s all free! (Though donations are welcome for the Halle Q. Brown Food Shelf.)

I’d take a free trip—or at least a taste of a trip—to Ecuador any day.

Future expeditions:

  • April 15, India
  • April 29, Norway
  • May 6, Liberia

Urban Expedition is produced by Minnesota Landmarks, the nonprofit programming and management agency for the Center, and sponsored by Travelers Foundation, RBC Wealth Management, and General Mills Foundation. For more info, visit landmarkcenter.org. Landmark Center: 75 West 5th St., St. Paul
