Winona LaDuke is a Native activist, writer, hemp farmer, and overall Minnesota legend, known for her two-time Green Party candidacy for Vice President with Ralph Nader and, more recently, for protesting Enbridge’s Line 3 oil pipeline. (Read our profile, which includes that confrontation, here.) To celebrate her 60th birthday, she invites all women with the name Winona to join her for a weekend in a city that shares their name. It’s a goofy idea that puts seriousness aside. To name a few attractions, there will be art, storytelling, river cruises, canoe races, live music, jingle dress dancing, and a dinner by the Sioux Chef. Learn more.
