Drive-in and Binge-out 

What: The Olmsted County Fairgrounds’ drive-in movie series
When: Oct. 22-31
Where: Olmsted County Fair, 1403 Third Ave. SE

Presented in part by OMB Bank, Olmsted County Fair will be offering a drive-in movie series this weekend, featuring family favorites such as Back to the Future, The Goonies, Hotel Transylvania, and many more. The event is free on a first-come, first-serve basis, but donations are encouraged. The full movie schedule can be found at olmstedcountyfair.com

Fall Classic

What: World Series 2020
When: Oct. 23-24, 7:08 p.m.-10 p.m.
Where: Thr3 Jack, Minneapolis

North Loop golf simulator, restaurant, and sports bar Thr3 Jack is hosting viewing parties for Friday and Saturday’s World Series games between the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Tampa Bay Rays. For $300, up to 10 guests receive four hours of simulator time to view the night’s game on the big screen, plus a menu of giant pretzels, hot dogs, buffalo wings, house cracker jacks, and three buckets of Able Ol’ Trusty beers.

Lakeside Festival

What: Dock & Paddle’s “Harvest by the Lake” festival

If you like caramel apples, beer, and pumpkin carving, we have the perfect place to get your fall fix. Dock & Paddle’s “Harvest by the Lake” festival brings lakeside fun for the whole family, set with a pumpkin carving contest, hay bale maze, and a variety of fall ciders and cocktails for parents. Tickets will be sold on a first come first serve basis at $5 for adults and $3.50 for children. Each ticket purchase includes a complimentary choice of apple cider, hot cocoa, or hot apple crisp.

Sip & Socialize

What: Federweisser Festival at Winehaven
When: Oct 24, 10a.m-5p.m & Oct. 25, 11a.m.-5p.m.
Where: WineHaven Winery and Vineyard, 10020 Deer Garden Ln, Chisago City

It’s not quite juice, but it’s not quite wine, either. As an ode to German tradition, Winehaven is opening its doors for a weekend of Federweisser wine sampling. Sip directly from the cask, and bring up to four of your friends to enjoy delicious food, drinks, and even wine slushies. Space is limited and reservations are required, so save your spot here

Let’s Hear It for the Women of Broadway

What: Live from the West Side: Women of Broadway Patti LuPone

Where: Live Stream performance presented by Hennepin Theatre Trust

If you’re a fan of Netflix’s Hollywood, you’ll want to catch Broadway legend Patty LuPone in this weekend’s Women of Broadway virtual concert. Streaming live from the Shubert Virtual Studios on Manhattan’s West Side, LuPone will perform a mixture of Broadway songs and popular hits. The performance will be followed by a Q&A session where LuPone will answer viewer questions regarding her career and personal life. (Her recent stage appearances got her nominated for the Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle Award, as well as the Best Actress in a Musical.) Tickets for the event can be found here, which will include access to the livestream and an additional 72-hour access to a recorded version of the event. 

Virtual Feast

What: Cookie Cart’s Virtual Chef’s Dinner fundraiser
When: Oct. 25, meal pick-up, 5-5:30p.m., Live streaming 7-8p.m.
Where: Meal pick-up location based on preference indicated following ticket reservation, livestream available on the event website

The Cookie Cart’s 12th annual chef’s dinner will take a virtual format this year, featuring live-streamed cooking by local chefs, personal chef interviews, and a live auction. In tandem with the COVID-19 pandemic, featured chefs will create one-of-a-kind takeout meals for attendees to enjoy at home while streaming the live program. Participating chefs will be from local favorites across the Twin Cities restaurant scene, including the Freehouse, Mill Valley Kitchen, Grand Cafè, and more. Meals will be available to pick up in multiple convenient locations based on your preferences upon registering. Tickets include a partner chef meal, dessert, wine, and Cookie Cart cookies.
