Game day or not, what better way to eat chicken than in the form of a hot, juicy chicken wing? With an exciting variety of styles and flavors available across the Twin Cities, this delicious meal is practically a delicacy to area locals. From Minneapolis to Saint Paul (and beyond), we’ve scoured the state for restaurants with the tastiest wings to compete in Minnesota Monthly’s new chicken wing bracket challenge. Whether they be sweet, mild, tangy, or spicy, this bracket challenge had one goal in mind; to find the best chicken wings Minnesota has to offer! Wing aficionados and casual samplers alike were invited to cast their votes daily to help crown one restaurant the chicken wing champion.
We started with 32 worthy restaurants and after 5 weeks of voting and over 4,000 reader-submitted votes, we have an official Chicken Wing Bracket Challenge Champion!

THE 2023 CHICKEN WING BRACKET CHALLENGE CHAMPION
The competition to take home the title of “Best Chicken Wings in Minnesota” started with 32 restaurants. After 5 weeks of a bracket-style competition and over 4,000 reader-submitted votes later, we excited to announce Maple Tavern has been voted the best chicken wings in the state, claiming the title of 2023 Chicken Wing Champion!

This establishment offers comfortable décor, the casual atmosphere of a bar & grill, delicious food made from scratch by a professional chef, year-round musical entertainment and a spacious outdoor patio and stage area to help you enjoy the weather during spring and summer months with fun events like sand volleyball.

Voting will open on Monday, February 6. Each week the two restaurants with the lowest amount of votes will be eliminated from the bracket challenge.
