2014 Celebrity Waiter Night for Chad Greenway’s Lead The Way Foundation

EVENT: The fourth annual Celebrity Waiter Night for Chad Greenway’s Lead The Way Foundation was held on October 20 at Manny’s Steakhouse.

CAUSE: The event raised $170,000 for the foundation, which provides daily support to critically or chronically ill children and their families in the Twin Cities area. Current projects include the installation of Chad’s Lockers into metro-area hospitals, giving patients and families access to computers, movies, and video-game systems to occupy their time during their hospital stay.

WARDROBE SWITCH: 16 of Greenway’s Vikings teammates swapped out their football jerseys for aprons to serve a three-course meal to nearly 200 guests, with more players participating this year than ever before.

GUESTS OF HONOR: 13-year-old Tate Maurer, a lymphoma survivor, addressed the crowd with his mother to thank Greenway and the Lead The Way Foundation for providing distraction during his treatment—a speech that ended in a standing ovation.
