Event: The Minnesota Opera Golden Jubilee Gala was held Friday, September 22, at the James J. Hill Library and Ordway Center for the Arts.
Cause: The annual gala raised nearly $515,000 in support of the opera’s resident-artist and education programs. For 50 years, the Minnesota Opera has embraced new, challenging material, making it one of the most forward-thinking companies in the nation.
Who’s Who: Guthrie Theater artistic director Joe Dowling, Science Museum president Eric Jolly, Vocal Essence artistic director Philip Brunelle, and Ordway president Patricia Mitchell were among the 1,750 who attended the opera’s performance of Verdi’s Nabucco.
After Party: Following the performance was the Silver & Gold Soiree, an after party for the opera’s young professionals group, TEMPO.
