Hot Toddy n. – A drink consisting of whiskey, brandy, or other liquor mixed with hot water, sugar, and spices.
Apparently I missed National Hot Toddy Day on January 11, and for this I sincerely apologize. It wasn’t for lack of enthusiasm for this winter warm-up. In fact, hot toddies are one of the few things I look forward to during single-digit season. The following is one of my favorite combinations, using my favorite vodka, but feel free to swap in brandy.
Apple Cider Toddy
1 ½ ounces Prairie Organic Vodka
4 ounces hot apple cider
1 cinnamon stick
Add vodka to a mug, fill with hot apple cider, and garnish with a cinnamon stick.
