The city might be covered with snow, but Josh Thoma’s lobster Smack Shack, the runaway street food hit of the summer, has parked itself at the 1029 Bar in Nordeast and is serving up fresh seafood Wed.–Sat. nights. I just had to stop by for a visit after Dara blogged about it last week.
I expected to find the actual truck parked outside, but instead Thoma and Co. have taken over the kitchen and are dispensing with a lobster-laden menu that includes lobster mac & cheese, grilled cheese with lobster and asparagus, and a monthly lobster boil for only $20—a spread that tastes decidedly better when served with bibs, beer, BINGO, and plenty of dive-bar regulars.
