If you can imagine a blend of tea, Mrs. Kelly’s can mix it—and a steaming cup of tea may be just the way to stave off the midwinter drag this season. Mrs. Kelly’s selection of custom-blended teas ranges from from the traditional to the downright unusual.
Located near the Grain Belt Brewery, Mrs. Kelly’s tea warehouse prepares a plenitude of whimsical custom blends to taste—in addition to a few of their own distinctive standards. Their fruity flavors include blends such as the sweetly spicy Apricot Ginger, the dark and mellow Black Currant, and the bursting-with-juiciness Passion Fruit Rooibos.
If the more subtle flavors are likely to help you through your winter woes, Mrs. Kelly’s also offers blends such as the Earl Blue, a smoky-lavender twist on the classic Earl Grey tea. The Chocolate Mint blend is notable for its delicate-but-not-overpowering flavor, with a dark cocoa iciness reminiscent of York peppermint patties. Along with the cinnamon, cranberry, and vanilla of the Celebration Tea, the box of blends that Mrs. Kelly’s sent over provided a flavorful refuge from the wintry weather outdoors.
If you’re really looking for a luxurious night in, Mrs. Kelly’s has even created a Bath Tea—a blend of jasmine, sage, French lavender, rose petals, and calendula blossoms—both as a beverage and as (if you can believe it) a rejuvenating mixture for smoother skin. Drinking the bathwater not recommended.
