After much anticipation, the NHL and its apparel partner, Fanatics, have finally released the designs for the new “Hometown Remix” jerseys, a special edition series of jerseys designed for each team in the league to highlight their city, state, or territory’s culture.
The Wild’s new jersey, which they will debut against the Nashville Predators on Tuesday, Nov. 17 at Grand Casino Arena, is primarily black with a cresting moon added to the logo and constellations on the sleeves of the jersey, all meant to invoke the dark Minnesota winters and its beautiful skies.
“The Wild’s Hometown Remix jersey was created for our fans and everyone who calls Minnesota home,” Todd Frederickson, Senior Vice President of Marketing for the Minnesota Wild, said in a prepared statement. “We’re excited to add these jerseys to our lineup this season. They reflect the unique culture, character and hockey heritage that make the State of Hockey unlike anywhere else.”
The jersey also features two stars on the numbers meant to represent the Twin Cities.
