Profile
Minnesota State University Moorhead (MSUM)’s innovative undergraduate majors prepare students for careers in education, business, science, healthcare, arts and humanities. Students can delve into programs not found elsewhere in the region: geospatial analysis, medical physics, art therapy, and entertainment industries and technology. With 128 majors, emphases, and options, 60-plus certificates and 20 online programs, students are sure to find a field of study that interests them.
MSUM also offers 15 graduate degrees, including several accelerated options allowing students to earn both a bachelor’s and master’s degree in as little as five years. Founded as a teachers’ college, MSUM continues to prepare tomorrow’s educators through its nationally accredited School of Teaching and Learning. Pre-professional programs, such as pre-chiropractic, pre-dentistry, pre-physical therapy and pre-medicine, also prepare students for graduate school and beyond.
Nestled in the growing community of Fargo-Moorhead, MSUM is deeply engaged with regional partners, as well. For example, the School of Nursing and Healthcare Leadership collaborates with local health systems; Show Imaging, a multinational event production and creative company, partners with the Entertainment Industries and Technology program; and the Marcil Center for Innovative Journalism is a collaborative effort with Forum Communications. There are opportunities outside the classroom, too—at a science center, an ad agency, an early education center, an oceanarium, and more.
