In the heart of the holiday season, an event takes place that draws crowds from near and far. Steaming cups of hot cocoa, the sounds of hooves clippity-clapping along the streets, and candles flickering in the breeze, creates a magical night to remember.
Winter Walk, hosted by the Northfield Chamber of Commerce and Tourism is the highlight of our winter season. Kicking of the special week is the traditional Snowflake Ornament Hunt with clues announced at 8:00am each morning on Northfield News’ website, KYMN, the Chamber’s website and Facebook pages. Browse the unique collection of shops, arts, restaurants and the museum in historic Northfield and enjoy the beautifully decorated storefront window displays. Many of the stores have holiday discounts, giveaways, treats entertainment and more.
There will be horse-drawn carriages ready to take you for an old fashioned ride, carolers strolling through downtown along with thousands of twinkling lights to guide your path! Old and young alike enjoy viewing the model train display located at the Northfield Public Library and listening to the Cannon Valley River Orchestra. Children will love the addition of a Winter Candy Land and barrel-train rides!
“Smile” at the many photo opportunities throughout the event including Santa, Rudolph, The Nutcracker Stairs, The Grinch, Frosty and even the notorious James Younger Gang. There is something for everyone in Northfield.
