This is the perfect time to take in the magnificence and beauty of Mother Nature’s changing colors. Bright shades of green make way for red, yellow, and gold, creating a spectacular backdrop from which to enjoy fall activities. Pick up some sweet and juicy apples from one of two local orchards, or grab some cider or delicious homemade pies.
Did you know Fairmont, MN has five lakes? As the leaves change the parks and lakes are still here to enjoy. Go for a scenic drive around the lakes and into the surrounding countryside and parks. Head out on to the water to enjoy the pre-winter rays of sunshine. Fall is also a popular season for hunters, who travel to Martin County to take advantage of the water fowl, white-tail deer and pheasants that gather in the region. You can also get some target practice in at the Fairmont Trap Club’s shooting range.

Get your girlfriends together and Visit Fairmont for a relaxing weekend. Take in shopping in our downtown, with many boutiques and specialty stores. Stop by one of our many lakeside dining restaurants for a selfie while enjoying great food. Spend an afternoon at the Fairmont Brewery Company. There is always an event at the Fairmont Opera House.
Even though the weather is turning to the next season, Fairmont still has many outdoor and indoor activities to do. The holiday season officially begins with the annual Glows Parade on Nov. 18. Get into the festive spirit when Santa arrives to Fairmont, then head downtown to enjoy the parade of lighted floats.
