Designed by the collective behind Northeast Minneapolis’ Olio Vintage, The Standard’s second event doubles as a fundraiser for the Minneapolis-Uppsala Friendship Committee, a sister-city partner of the American Swedish Institute.

Bird lovers from near and far flock to the small town of Houston, Minnesota, for the annual presentation of the World Owl Hall of Fame Awards, comprising North America’s preeminent festival dedicated to the majestic birds. Attractions include live owl presentations, keynote speakers, award presentations, and hundreds of pieces of children’s owl art from all over the world, selected from an entry pool of 3,000 drawings from 32 countries.
