A Legend to Stay Sleepless For

What: The Legend of Sleepy Hollow

The Walking Shadow theater is showing an edited version of the 2013 play and horror classic The Legend of Sleepy Hollow, available for streaming during the month of January. Ticket prices are decided by you, with a minimum price set at $10.

Who Wants to be a Naturalist?

What: Game Night with a Ranger
When: Jan. 7, 14, 21, and 28; 7-8 p.m.
Where: Online (Zoom meeting)

On four separate nights, compete against park rangers and celebrities while testing your knowledge of the Mississippi River’s history and its biology. Play virtually on Zoom for the chance to win some prizes and try out a different game show spin-off each night, complete with a live studio audience. Ticket prices are $10 per event and $35 for all four.

An Artful Journey

The Cedar Public Access Channel will be streaming worldwide a mini-documentary titled A Journey Through the Southside, which will explore the experiences of Deeq Abdi as a Somali hip-hop artist and activist in South Minneapolis.

A Drive Through Nature

What: “Nature Illuminated”
When: Jan. 7-17, Sunday-Thursday, 5-9 p.m.; Friday-Saturday, 5-11 p.m.
Where: The Minnesota Zoo, 13000 Zoo Blvd, Apple Valley, MN 55124

As the Minnesota Zoo’s “Nature Illuminated” exhibit winds down, visitors have a last chance to drive through the large-scale animal art installations on display. While enjoying the light work, learn all about endearing wildlife and the steps that can be taken to protect them. Produced by the zoo, all tickets must be purchased online beforehand.

Pottery for Two

What: Pottery Date Night
When: Jan. 9, 3-4:30 p.m.

The Rumriver Art Center is hosting pottery classes for date nights and is open to those of all skill levels. During the 90-minute class session, you will be able to create anything from an object useful in everyday life to a gift for someone else. Pick up supplies at the art center. Once completed, projects will be fired and available for pickup within a couple of weeks. The price of admission is $25 for one person and $45 for two.
