Flirt Boutique Opens in North Loop

Update: Flirt has since closed its North Loop location. Shop its original location at 177 Snelling Ave. N., St. Paul

Seven years after opening shop at Selby and Snelling Avenues in St. Paul, sexy-sweet lingerie boutique Flirt has set its sights on Minneapolis’ hottest retail destination. The shop’s second location has opened in North Loop’s historic Colonial Warehouse, which is also home to men’s and home store MartinPatrick3 and women’s retailer Grethen House. At 574 square feet, the space will be slightly larger than its first location, and owner Jessica Gerard has taken full advantage of the space’s unique charm, pairing its original brick walls, wood floors, and tall, exposed ceilings with mint-colored walls, chandeliers, pinup wall art, and brass railings.

The store’s merchandise is similar to that at its St. Paul location: Matching silk and lace undergarments by luxury brands such as Cosabella, Hanky Panky, and La Perla (of which Flirt is the exclusive Twin Cities retailer); soft cotton pajama sets by Only Hearts; glamorous silk and lace gowns by NKi Mode; and importer rosewater lingerie wash products and bags. Among the new additions are Julianna Rae’s silk travel bags and nightgowns. Meanwhile, both Stella McCartney and Pleasure State have recently returned to the fold. Gerard also tells me the store will begin carrying sexy British line L’Agent by Agent Provocateur and edgy, avant-garde French brand Maison Close for spring.

Stay tuned for a to-be-announced grand opening taking place in the coming weeks featuring a jewelry trunk show by local designer Helen Wang, makeup touch-ups from the Beauty Counter, and champagne tastings from Thomas Liquor.

Now open, 212 3rd Ave. N., Mpls. flirt-boutique.com
