Stock & Bond Opens in Downtown Minneapolis

A bold new tribute to heritage steak, American whiskey, and Minnesota’s culinary legacy

A new chapter in Minnesota dining is about to unfold. Opening July 31 in the iconic Farmers and Mechanics Bank building in downtown Minneapolis, Stock & Bond blends historic grandeur with modern elegance, offering a bold new take on steakhouse dining. Brought to life by national hospitality group Apicii, the 251-seat restaurant celebrates American whiskey, heritage-bred beef, and local artistry—all under one impressive Art Deco roof.

Executive Chef John Sobojinski, a Minnesota native who trained under culinary greats in NYC, leads the kitchen with a menu that puts premium Midwestern meat and sustainable sourcing front and center. Think Fellers Ranch Wagyu, an indulgent 40-ounce Tomahawk, seafood towers, short rib ravioli, and caviar tots—not to mention a 16-layer chocolate cake with gold leaf.

Behind the bar, Ross Nelson (formerly of DDP Hospitality and Tilia) has curated an American whiskey list that tops 350 selections. His inventive cocktails—including the tallow-washed “Bonded & Washed” and the dry ice-enhanced “Barcelona G&T”—balance creativity and craftsmanship.

Designed by renowned firm Wilson Ishihara, the 8,340-square-foot space pays homage to its historic bones—gleaming chandeliers, teak paneling, and all—while introducing luxe new layers like velvet banquettes and commissioned murals by local artists. Guests can choose from the grand dining room, lively lounge, or five private dining rooms for their next night out.
